Penn Orchard Coaching
About
Hello and welcome, I’m Debbie and Penn Orchard Coaching is my coaching practice. I live in south Cumbria and I’ve been working as a teacher, adviser and most recently a coach, for over 30 years. My coaching work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT - pronounced "act" rather than "A-C-T" ) to help people manage difficult feelings, thoughts and emotions, supporting them to live rich, value-led lives. If you’d like to learn more about coaching and ACT and how I may help you, please get in touch and arrange a free consultation.
Why coaching and why ACT?
Have you ever felt uncertain about what you really want or found that something seems to be getting in the way of moving forward? Coaching can help you explore these questions, providing a space to discover what matters most to you and what might be holding you back.
We’ll work together to clarify your goals, understand the challenges you face, and develop a path that feels right for you. ACT is a talk therapy, related to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). ACT supports the coaching process by helping you embrace difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than avoiding them, so you can move towards your values and goals with greater ease.
What are the benefits?
Coaching supported by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help with:
Improving emotional well-being: Helps you accept difficult feelings rather than avoid or fight them.
Building psychological flexibility: Encourages you to adapt and respond effectively to changing circumstances.
Clarifying personal values: Assists you in identifying what matters most and using these values to guide decisions.
Managing stress and anxiety: Teaches strategies for dealing with worries and stress in a healthy way.
Enhancing resilience: Helps you bounce back from setbacks and remain focused on your goals.
Breaking unhelpful patterns: Guides you in recognising and shifting behaviours that limit your growth.
Improving motivation: Encourages action towards meaningful goals, even in the face of challenges.
Building self-compassion: Promotes a kinder, more understanding relationship with yourself.
How can we work together?
I'm here to support you. I offer a free consultation and if the fit feels right, we can continue to meet in my garden studio in Pennington, Ulverston. Sessions last an hour and are usually held weekly. No set number of sessions is required; we'll go at the right pace for you.
